Writing Our Way Home

Zain programmed Writing Our Way Home a new season of multi-disciplinary events at Free Word between 3rd October to December 2019. The season featured an installation of Free Word’s main space by Resolve Collective.

Writing Our Way Home programmed a range of artists, activists and organisations including a new play by Suhaiymah Manzoor Khan titled The End of Diaspora, a workshop on resisting gentrification curated by Grenfell United’s Ed Daffarn and Lowkey, a night of monologues featuring Winsome Pinnock, Inua Ellams and Roger Robinson and a debate chaired by Faiza Shaheen. 

The season also featured a takeover of Free Word’s

Café space which was transformed into a Somali Living Room curated by poet and artist, Amina Jama. You can watch & read a highlight reel of Writing Our Way Home here.
